Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) has signed an EGP760 million contract with the Cairo Electricity Production Company (CEPC), an affiliate of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, for construction work on a new 2 x 350 MW thermal power plant. The plant will be located in El Tebbin, 25 km south of Cairo, near the industrial areas of Helwan and Maadi. The scope of services under the contract covers all civil works, including:

Intake pump house.

Discharge structures.

Reinforced concrete cylinder pipes (2.5 m dia.).

150 m chimney.

Steam turbine buildings.

All auxiliary and ancillary facilities.

All underground facilities.

Piping and duct banks and associated piling.

Foundation works.

Mechanical services.

Electrical works.
